Frequently Asked Questions

FAQ
  • How does Made To Fade work?
Made To Fade works by penetrating the top layer of your skin with our 100% organic ink. The ink reacts with the organic components in your skin during the application procedure, changing its color to dark blue or black, depending on your individual skin chemistry. Traditional tattoos are permanent because they are embedded in the dermis. Made To Fade rests in your epidermis, which regenerates spontaneously after 1-2 weeks. As a result, our tattoos are designed to fade in around 1-2 weeks.
  • Why do Made To Fade tattoos appear so realistic?
Because of our ink mix, Made To Fade tattoos look realistic and stay longer than traditional temporary tattoos. It penetrates the top layer of your skin (the epidermis), where it combines with organic chemicals to change the color of your skin to seem like a genuine tattoo.
  • What distinguishes Made To Fade from Henna or Jagua?
Made To Fade is neither henna or jagua in any way. Made To Fade is a plant-based product that penetrates the top layer of your skin to produce a tattoo-like color. Made To Fade is not the same as henna in terms of application and use, as well as on a molecular level. So, what's the distinction? Henna is a natural dye made from the plant Lawsonia inermis. Lawsone, or hennotannic acid, is a tannin dye molecule found in henna that is tiny enough to enter a skin cell. When henna paste is applied to the skin, the color molecules infiltrate down the columns of skin cells. Made To Fade is a plant-based product with an active component derived from plants that is safe, non-toxic, and vegan. Made To Fade works similarly to henna, but it penetrates the skin cell via a different molecule. It interacts with organic substances to change the color of your skin. Henna and Made To Fade tattoos are both semi-permanent since they are applied to the epidermis (the top layer of your skin) and persist as long as your skin regenerates. This normally takes 1-2 weeks, although it is extremely dependent on location, daily activity, exfoliation, and skin wetness. Did you realize there is a distinction between semi-permanent and temporary? Temporary hair color, like hair color, just leaves the pigment on top and washes off. 'Semi-permanent' permits the pigment/formula to seep in and change the color of your hair/skin. Color Natural Henna paste is dark brown, and the stain appears orange when first removed. Over the next several days, it darkens to a rich reddish-brown. Any other type of 'colored' henna is not henna at all. Products like 'black henna' frequently contain artificial chemicals like PPD, which is also present in certain hair colors and can cause permanent scarring when applied to the skin. Our Made To Fade product has a navy blue hue when initially applied. The pattern may seem incredibly light in color or entirely translucent when first applied. This is perfectly typical as the ink develops and darkens over the course of 24-36 hours to produce a deep blue-black result. Application Traditional henna is often applied on the skin with a cone tube. After that, a combination of lemon juice and white sugar is poured over the artwork to remoisten the henna mud and make the henna stain deeper. It is applied to the skin for 2-6 hours before developing over the next 24-72 hours. Culture Henna (Mehndi) is a ceremonial art form that dates back to the ancient Indian subcontinent. It is commonly used for brides at weddings. The application of mehndi is mentioned in the earliest Hindu Vedic ceremonial literature.
  • Why don't you sell temporary tattoos?
Temporary tattoo stickers are great for kids, but we wanted an authentic tattoo replacement that’s indistinguishable from the real thing – something we’d wear loud-n-proud in public. We tried and tested many brands of temporary tattoos with the same results: Temporary tattoos are a translucent sticker which sticks on top of your skin. Any hairs become trapped under the sticker and are visible. The stickers are very shiny, unlike a real tattoo. Applying talcum powder to reduce the shine leaves a white residue, and the powder simply vanishes as soon as the tattoo comes in contact with water. Only a day or two after applying, the sticker begins to breakdown and peel, not fade, making the tattoo look even less realistic. At this point, it requires removal to save embarrassment. Our Made To Fade semi-permanent tattoos are NOT stickers. Our revolutionary ink (which is 100% organic, non-toxic, plant-based, cruelty-free, vegan) interacts with the proteins and keratin in your skin, darkening it over the course of 24-36 hours. The ink actually absorbs into the skin and lasts up to 15 days, resulting in an incredibly realistic, authentic tattoo-like experience. Our tattoos gradually fade over time as your skin regenerates naturally, and they cannot be easily removed at any time.
  • Is Made To Fade suitable for all skin tones?
Without a doubt! Made To Fade is suitable for all skin tones. Our formula penetrates the skin and interacts with the amino acids in the epidermis (i.e. the first layer). This response causes the skin to become blue/black. The deeper the skin pigmentation, the darker the tattoo will normally seem.
  • Are Made To Fade tattoos safe to use?
Yes. Our tattoos are non-toxic and safe. Our plant-based inks are 100% organic and vegan, using formulations derived from fruit. Our plant-based solutions have undergone product safety testing to verify that they fulfil cosmetic regulatory criteria. However, those with chemical sensitivity should test a tiny piece before putting a whole tattoo, since there is always the chance of some people having a reaction to any substance that touches the skin. If a reaction occurs, it is generally minor contact dermatitis (red or inflamed skin as a result of irritation). The itching and irritation should go away in a few days. • Is Made To Fade safe for pregnant or nursing women?
If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, we always recommend consulting your doctor before using this product.
  • Do Made To Fade items have an expiration date or a shelf life?
Made To Fade semi-permanent tattoos have a 5-year shelf life, allowing you to save them for future use. You should keep your tattoos in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight.
  • Is Made To Fade free of gluten?
Yes, our tattoos are gluten free.
  • Is Made To Fade kosher?
Made To Fade does not use any animal products and is cruelty-free. Our products are not ingested and are only administered topically. We recommend that you use Made To Fade at your own risk and in line with your own personal habits.
  • Is Made To Fade animal cruelty free?
    Yes.
  • Can I tattoo over Made To Fade indefinitely?
Many individuals choose to use Made To Fade before committing to a permanent tattoo. If it's going to be on your skin forever, why not put it through its paces? Having saying that, we do not advocate having a permanent tattoo right over a Made To Fade tattoo. Because each tattoo artist uses a distinct brand of ink (which has various components, compounds, and so on), we do not advocate combining inks. For the safety of your skin, we advise to wait until your Made To Fade has completely faded before getting a permanent tattoo to protect your skin.
